Our Process

The Hayworth Fence Way:

What to expect when working with Hayworth Fence.

  1. Meet with our experienced residential project manager, Mark Lewallen. Mark has years of experience in the field with us and moved into a project manager position in 2023. He will go over the layout, design, the installation process, properties of the different kinds of fence to ensure you making the right decision.
  2. Our administrative/residential assistant, Shae will email you a professional proposal with a drawing and specs of the fence you are wanting installed. We try to include as much detail as possible so there is zero confusion or question on what you are purchasing. Though we try and do our best with this, questions are sometimes inevitable. Always email, call, or text us! We are here and want to help you.
  3. To move forward with your project a half down payment and signature on your proposal are required. Signatures and half down payments can all be done electronically for the convenience of our customers.
  4. You have now purchased your fence. Now what….

What to plan for before we come:

We are always trying to get to your job as soon as possible: When scheduling, you will get a general estimated time frame because weather, rock, and/or mud, etc. can cause delays. As we get closer to your job, our estimated day gets more accurate and a day or two before, we will call to get permission to come. If you need this worked in a different way or need a specific way, please let us know.

Mark your private underground utilities and property lines. Hayworth Fence Co., Inc. will call Diggers Hotline for you, but is not responsible for any private lines or property lines.

Clear the area of brush and tree limbs where your fence is going to be installed. If we get on site and this is not done prior to us coming, an agreed fee for clearing and disposal will be charged, or we will pull off jobsite until cleared. If you know in advance that you do not want to take care of this, please call us for pricing.

Final walk through and layout:

A day or two before installation you will meet with Mark one last time to ensure we have everything correct on our end. He will stake your property where your future fence will be installed. This is done so when the installers arrive on the day of your installation, they are ready to go.

What to expect during installation:

There will be clean up. We do use machinery to install your fence unless notified otherwise. Depending on the installation method for your installation will depend on how much disturbance is done to your property. Pounding posts will be the cleanest method. Concrete footing will create more dirt and mess to your yard. With either our goal is to keep your yard as clean as tidy as possible however no matter the installation type there will be some clean up or disturbance to your yard.

Changes/personal preferences from the original signed contract made on site with installers need to be run through your sales rep or represented in the office. Please know that our goal is to make you happy, and we are very happy to take extra time for special circumstances, but changes can add extra charges.

What to expect after installation:

We must walk back and forth on your property. When walking back and forth to perform the fence installation or use of machinery, you can have some wear on your grass and property, and it may take some time for your property to recuperate. Also, we try not to disturb plants near fence lines, but they may endure adversity.

Depending on the installation method for your installation will determine how much disturbance is done to your property. Pounding posts will be the cleanest method. Concrete footing will create more dirt and mess to your yard. With either installation our goal is to keep your yard as clean as tidy as possible however no matter the installation type there will be some clean up or disturbance to your yard.

You may have leftover dirt on your property. We will try to spread it as much as possible, but depending on the dirt condition, it may not spread evenly. You may have some additional groundwork to do once your fence has been installed.

Wood Is subject to warp, twist, and crack, etc.: We work hard at the small install details to help minimize the natural movement that takes place in natural products such as wood. But no matter where you purchase or who installs it, wood may start moving within the first week and we will adjust as needed within the first year.

Depending on your ground condition/grade, you may have gaps under the fence. We do not make trips back to grade your yard or fill in gaps. Our goal is to work hard on making your fence look good, which can sometimes mean keeping the top straight, even when your ground is not. Gates need to be on level ground or there will be a gap.

  • Sign-Off Sheet: Our process is having you walk the job and do a sign off sheet with us before the installers leave. By avoiding trips back on the job, we can keep our prices competitive.
  • Warranty: Hayworth Fence Co., Inc. agrees to provide a limited warranty on all workmanship for a period of two years. Hayworth Fence Co., Inc. carries all manufacturer warranties on materials. Wood products do not carry a manufacturer’s warranty and are subject to warp, twist, crack, rot, and/or sag. We will adjust wood fencing as needed within the first year of installation.

Expect to hear from us after installation. We want to hear how we did.

The final invoice is sent via email to you and payments can be made electronically.
